Roisin Blackwood ![]() What followed were years of being locked away, invisible unless her father needed her presentable. That ended when Darren shipped her off to London, to Finn, her mother's cousin, and Rose found herself at Hogwarts, where she discovered that she was very good at Defense Against the Dark Arts, and that she liked who she was when she was allowed to simply exist. After graduating she joined the Ministry, training as an Auror. Life complicated things along the way. Fiona arrived first, fathered by a man she never saw again, and then Evander, whose father Maddox Barlowe remained in her life in the easy, uncomplicated way she was grateful for. She gave Maddox primary custody of Evander, threw herself back into training, and in 1919 became a fully qualified Auror. When Hogwarts needed a Head Nurse, Rose saw an opportunity. Her Auror training made her more than capable, and Maddox was already on staff, which meant Evander was close. She took the position without hesitation. By her second term she had taken on the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and the Hufflepuff Head of House role, both of which suited her in ways she hadn't anticipated. What she hadn't anticipated either was Gideon Blackwood. He changed things, quietly and steadily, in the way that only the right person can. In June 1922 she married him, and Fiona became a Blackwood alongside her. Then in June 1923, Theordore Rupert Blackwood was born. |
