Student Application: Percival "Percy" Harman - Percival Harman - 08-18-2025 ![]() General Information Character Name: Percival "Percy" Harman Age: 14 Date of Birth: 11 Janurary 1906 Blood Status: Pureblood Residence: Whitby Family: Jonathan Harman, Edith Harman, Esmerelda Harman, Penelope Harman Personality & House Preference Personality: Percy is brave much like his older sister Esmerelda and will do anything for his friends and is never afraid to face an adventure. Percy thinks his new cousin Cordelia is fun and likes to visit her and let her read them stories. He likes to pretend to be the knights in the stories and dreams of having adventures much like them. History: Percival “Percy” Harman was born in 1906 to Jonathan Harman, a stern but fair wizard, and Edith (née Spellbody) Harman, a gentle-hearted witch with a love for folklore and magical creatures. Among their children, Percy was one of the youngest, born alongside his twin sister, Penny. The two shared the unique closeness of twins, though their personalities often ran in different directions. Percy brimmed with restless energy and a thirst for adventure, while Penny tended to be cautious, her bravery surfacing only when Percy’s excitement pulled her into his schemes. From an early age, Percy displayed the boldness that reminded many of his elder sister Esmerelda, who had a reputation in the family for chasing excitement wherever it could be found. While his older siblings had already begun carving their own paths in life, Percy often found himself caught between wanting to prove his courage and yearning for a sense of belonging. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and quick to leap into trouble if it meant protecting someone he cared about. Now, in the year 1920, Percy is fourteen, standing at the threshold between boyhood and the confusing, exhilarating world of adolescence. Hogwarts had become both a sanctuary and a challenge for him. The castle’s endless mysteries thrilled his adventurous spirit, yet it was within its walls that Percy began wrestling with feelings he did not fully understand. He had always admired the courage and strength of his male friends, but lately, he had noticed his admiration straying into softer, more lingering thoughts—feelings that stirred whenever a hand brushed against his or a smile lingered too long. The world outside was harsh, shaped by the aftermath of the Great War and the rigid expectations of family legacy. Percy understood instinctively that the attraction he felt toward other boys was something rarely spoken of, perhaps even something dangerous to reveal. Yet, instead of frightening him into silence, it awakened in him the same bravery he had shown on countless childhood adventures. He did not yet have the words for who he was becoming, but he knew that his heart was tugging him toward a truth as uncharted as any treasure hunt he had ever imagined. For now, Percy carried that truth quietly, tucked away behind his easy grin and fearless spirit. He still dreamed of daring escapades with Penny at his side, still stood ready to defend a friend at a moment’s notice, but deep within, he had begun another kind of journey—one not of chasing mysteries through forbidden corridors, but of discovering himself. House Preference: Hufflepuff Year Preference: 4th Prompt Response: When Percival Harman was cornered outside the Great Hall by his friend Arthur, he could tell immediately that something was wrong. Arthur’s eyes darted nervously, his hands fidgeting as though he were about to be marched straight to the Headmaster’s office. “Percy,” Arthur hissed, “I need a favor. A big one. I—I’ve got another detention tonight. If they find out, it’ll be my tenth, and I’ll be expelled for sure. You’ve got to cover for me.” Percy froze, torn between loyalty and the little voice of caution in the back of his mind. He had always prided himself on being brave, like Esmerelda, and loyal, like Penny often reminded him. But this wasn’t an adventure through a secret passageway—it was outright dishonesty. His stomach twisted. Arthur’s desperation was written all over his face. Percy had seen him laugh and boast a hundred times, but never look so small. That tug of loyalty, stronger than reason—pressed on Percy’s heart. “What do you mean, cover for you?” Percy asked cautiously. “Just… if anyone asks, tell them I was with you. Pretend we were in the library, or the common room, anywhere. Please, Percy. You’re the only one I trust.” The words struck him deeply. Percy wanted to be the kind of friend who could be trusted with anything. Yet he also felt the weight of what Arthur was asking. Lying to professors, risking his own reputation, even possible punishment. He glanced at the stone floor, then back up at his friend. “All right,” Percy said quietly, his voice steady though his heart raced. “I’ll do it. But you’ve got to promise me. No more after this. You can’t keep digging yourself deeper.” Arthur nodded, relief flooding his face. Percy knew he had just stepped into dangerous territory, but his loyalty won out. He had faced monsters of stone and shadow before; now, he would face this one too—shoulder to shoulder with a friend. Miscellaneous Other Characters NA How did you find us?
