Letterbox: Maddox Barlowe - Maddox Barlowe - 12-07-2025 ![]() Maddox Barlowe's Letterbox
Attached to the Gryffindor Head of House's door is a small, enchanted letterbox painted in deep scarlet. The opening is in the shape of a lion cast in bronze. It opens its mouth at your approach, anticipating the message you have come to pass along. The mouth expands to accept a plethora of items; however, it will immediately reject any foods presented.
Sometimes, while walking by, the lion can be heard humming a tune in a low and rumbling voice. It's not seeking an audience--or accompaniment--and will often cease when students stop by. If one takes too long after stopping by to deliver their letter, the lion will snarl and growl impatiently. Much like the professor, it doesn't have all day. Accepted by this box:

OOC: The primary purpose of this letterbox is for your students to get in contact with the Gryffindor head of house. You can have them post a note here with whatever it is they'd like to share/ask/discuss and Maddox will reach out to them as soon as he's available. RE: Letterbox: Maddox Barlowe - Frederick Richter - 01-02-2026 Mr. Head of House, Maddox Barlowe, sir, I tried to give you a plum. The lion on here closed its mouth. I’m sorry. I tried to clean it up. Don’t look at the floor. I have a concern about your letterbox’s safety. Not my fault. Someone else might be planning to take your letterbox. Be careful. Watch out for suspicious fruit. I want you to know that if it happens I am innocent. Thanks, Mr. Head of House, Maddox Barlowe, sir, Fred |
