A master of perception, Beaumont Campbell is the man that decides what the wizarding world sees and believes. Working in the shadows, his power isn’t loud and neither is it visible. Widely considered the best in his field, Beaumont knows how to pull the strings so gracefully that the masses believe it was their own idea. With the flick of a wrist as easily and practiced as a puppet master’s, he steers them in directions that make the most Galleons and that benefit the high society circles that he resides and thrives in. The eldest son to one of Wizarding Britain’s most esteemed pureblood families, his values and priorities are predetermined.

But rumours are spreading, his involvements with other men beginning to look like more than just casual business meetings, and Beaumont finds himself in need of cover-up. When the low ripples of shifting power draw him into a plot to reshape wizarding Britain, he doesn’t hesitate. A marriage to Harper Knightley doesn’t only polish his image within the elite pureblood circles, but connects him to James Laurence himself, the man determined to replace the unloved Minister Merrow and push policies that steer their community back towards a pureblood-oriented, traditional path.

The most important thing to Harper is herself and the welfare of the wizarding world.

Determined, unapologetic and cunning, she has worked her way up within the Ministry of Magic, striving for power and influence. Born as the youngest daughter to an upper class Halfblood family, Harper always thought she deserved more and never stopped working for it. What fate denied her, she is making up through cold calculation, manipulation and strategic outmanoeuvring, pushing her to the top and to a place where women like herself usually don't mingle — among pureblood politicians, deciding and controlling the course of Wizarding Britain's fate.

Her marriage to Beaumont wasn't what she had planned but it paved a path that otherwise would have remained inaccessible: a foot wedged into pureblood circles and a step closer to the status she has always believed befitted a woman like her. Fiercely loyal to their magical community, it is about the only thing she truly loves, the separation of all things muggle from what she believes to be superior her biggest motivator.

Harper has visions and she is bent on making them reality.
