Overview

Professors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are some of the most highly-educated and respected wizards and witches in Britain. They were often pulled from some of the most prestigious organizations in the world, including The Ministry of Magic, universities, national museums and conservational organizations, magical armed forces and sometimes more niche areas of expertise.

The Headmaster or Headmistress and Deputy are all selected and placed solely by the Minister of Magic. These positions are usually only given to the very best candidates in their field who have shown a demonstrated love of teaching, care and responsibility to Hogwarts's student body.

Professors, Heads of Houses and other staff are recruited and hired by the Headmaster or Headmistress and confirmed by the Deputy prior to their instating.
