1. Alternate Universe (AU) Disclaimer
This forum is a fan-created Alternate Universe (AU) roleplay setting. While inspired by the Harry Potter series created by J.K. Rowling, our board does not adhere strictly to established canon. Timelines, characters, magical systems, and world events may diverge significantly from the original source material.

Participation on this forum constitutes understanding and agreement that this is a reimagined universe. All characters, plots, lore, and other original contributions are unique to this setting.

We are not affiliated with J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros., or any official entities. This is a non-commercial, nonprofit project.

2. Intellectual Property
2.1 User-Created Content

All original characters, writing, and creative contributions posted by users ("User Content") remain the intellectual property of their creators. By posting on this site, you grant KnockturnBound.net a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, archive, and maintain your content on the platform for the purposes of continuity and community engagement.

You are free to reuse your own content elsewhere. However, please be mindful of collaborative content. If your work involves contributions from others (e.g., shared threads or co-developed plots), you must obtain their written consent before reposting or republishing those elements.

2.2 Site Content and Framework

The site’s structure, layout, original lore, systems, guides, templates, and worldbuilding developed specifically for this AU are the intellectual property of the site administrators. This includes - but is not limited to - custom magical systems, invented locations or bloodline structures, original graphics, and coded elements.

These materials may not be copied, redistributed, or used outside of Knockturnbound.net without explicit permission.

3. Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to register. Boards or sections featuring mature or explicit content will be clearly labeled as such.

We reserve the right to verify age and remove users who misrepresent their eligibility.

4. Conduct Expectations 4.1 Community Behavior

All users are expected to treat one another with respect. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or targeted abuse will not be tolerated.

4.2 Collaborative Standards

Do not control or manipulate another user's character without permission (godmodding).

Do not plagiarize or replicate another user’s work without consent.

NSFW, triggering, or violent content must be properly tagged and follow board-specific guidelines.

All users are responsible for ensuring mutual consent in joint threads and interactions.

5. Account & Activity Policy

One account per user unless otherwise permitted by staff.

Inactive accounts may be archived or removed in accordance with our inactivity policy (outlined in the FAQ or rules section).

Administrators reserve the right to remove or restrict accounts that violate these terms or disrupt the community.

6. Preservation of Content

Content posted to the board is preserved for narrative continuity and community records. Users may not request permanent deletion of threads that involve collaborative contributions unless a compelling reason is provided and staff approval is given.

In the event of site closure, users will be given an opportunity to export or save their content within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Limitation of Liability

The site and its staff are not responsible for:

Off-site interactions or conflicts between members.

Personal or emotional reactions to in-character content.

Technical failures, data loss, or server disruptions outside our control.

Participation on the site is voluntary and at your own risk.

8. Copyright and Fair Use Notice

This board is an unofficial fan project. All trademarks and copyrights related to Harry Potter and its universe are the property of J.K. Rowling and affiliated companies. No infringement is intended.

Original characters, stories, and creative works authored by users remain their property.

9. Amendments to the Terms

These Terms of Service may be updated at any time. Changes will be announced on the site. Continued use of the board after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
