Blackwood & Son’s

Rose absent-mindedly twirled the ring on her finger, her thoughts on her husband and their (because she refused to think of Fiona as just hers now) daughter. She’d been practically pulled out of the house by her sister-in-law, though the redhead insisted that she didn’t need time away from her family.

Besides, Lavinia was working and the thought of hanging out while she served drunk men (considering the clientele was a very high percentage of men) was less than satisfying. Still, Gideon had insisted it was a good idea for her to get out of the house.

So here was Rose. She sipped on her red wine, watching Vin’s multi-tasking skills. It was something she could do too – multitask, not tend bar – though it was on another level. She was a mother, so juggling work and a child who demanded attention was nothing new to her. However, juggling multitudes of men who wanted to get handsy… Honestly, Rose was impressed with Lavinia’s restraint.

“Oh, I’d have punched ‘em,” Rose commented as her sister-in-law got one of the male workers to escort an especially rowdy group out.

“Yeah, pretty sure Gid would appreciate that, but then there’d be the whole fall-out after…” she laughed and shook her head. Then another man approached the bar and requested another round of shots for his group.

Rose laughed and rolled her eyes. “I do love a good drink, but I don’t think I’ve ever been quite that obnoxious,” she commented. But then she thought back to the weekend that Fiona had to have been conceived and she…

Well, there was a reason she didn’t know who had fathered the girl.

The thought, while somewhat sour, brought a smile to her red lips anyways. Fiona finally had a dad, and honestly he was the best one she could have picked for her oldest child. The patience that man showed, especially when tea parties and glitter were involved, was incredibly impressive.
