WELCOME TO THE CARNIVAL!
Every year, your prefects are tasked with hosting an event that the entire school can enjoy. This year, with the help of their professors and more than a bit of magic, you can now enjoy the Carnival of 1921! On the unexpectedly mild afternoon of Saturday, March 12, a portion of the Hogwarts grounds has been commandeered for this very purpose.
The large, vibrant main gates to the carnival open at 12:30 PM.
There are many attractions to enjoy, both alone or with friends, and plenty of lively music to set the mood.
Creature Corner - A popular attraction among creature lovers, you can take a trip down the winding path and enjoy an up close experience with some of Hogwarts's most docile--and certainly some mischievous--creatures. So long as you show the right amount of respect, the creatures professor has kindly provided some of the creatures from the paddock to help you enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
Dunk Tank - You want to dunk your professor. The end. Who wouldn't want the chance to see the grumpy deputy headmaster plunged into...potentially freezing water with one well-thrown ball from their own hands? Why not see your Arithmancy professor soaking wet for that abysmal assignment they gave the other week? There won't be another chance at revenge like this for a while.
Carnival Games & Rides - What's a carnival without games and rides? In its own section of the carnival, you can grab your friends and win some prizes or take on some of the most famous rides of the 1920s. There's more than enough to keep you entertained for hours, and many challenges you can take on if you don't mind a few lines. Win a prize for a special friend, hoard a collection of plushies, or spend your afternoon being taken on a whimsical journey on the 'Hogwarts Mini-Express'.
Food Stalls & Rest Areas - No carnival is complete without carnival food and a place to enjoy it. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Need a moment to breathe and enjoy a meal, or more interested in chilling than throwing yourself into the overly bright displays? You'll find your place among the colourful seating and a jazz band to set the mood. As a bonus, the prefects have even thrown in massive turkey legs. Treat yourself.
Not-Fake-Fortune-Teller - She's definitely not fake, and those fortunes are definitely real. If they sound a little doom and gloom or over the top, perhaps you need to open your mind a little more. Step up into the tent and discover what might be your future if the stars align just right. Warning: results may vary. Do not make big, life-altering decisions on the word of your prefect. None on the prefect team will be held responsible after you've ruined your life over fortunes that are definitely true.
Jump into any of these threads and a prefect will be there to help ensure you're having a great time. Otherwise, feel free to make your own private threads if you've got something more focused in mind.
