Welcome to Dark Arts
For far too long, an inept Ministry has had a chokehold on the education of the wizarding youth in Britain. Minds have been stifled and crippled under the idea that magic is either good or evil. In this classroom, you will find that it is neither; rather it simply is and the intent of the wizard or witch is what deems the outcome and perspective. This term, with our new Minister's wise and forward-thinking permission, we will be delving deep into the origins of magic in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We will be traveling back to explore our Celtic roots and rituals that laid the foundation of modern Wizarding Britain.
Question what you have been taught. Question what the government has previously deemed unsuitable for you. In this classroom, you will be encouraged to come to your own conclusions.
Class Rules
⚝ Every student will arrive on time and be seated before the professor arrives. ⚝ Questions and respectful dialogue are encouraged. Belligerence is not.
⚝ Safety is paramount. Be mindful of all instruction and do not attempt to deviate.
⚝ Beware the wayward bauble.
OOC Assessment
⚝ Grades will depend on the interaction of your student with the class. While points are given for simply participating (and observing the site-wide 4x4x4) top scores will be applied to your student if you interact with the lesson, teacher, and/or your fellow students. Keep it true to your character's personality! We love diversity of thought, opinion, attitudes, etc. Extra Credit
⚝ There will be the opportunity to earn extra credit during the term. You can find the list of available extra credit assignments [here]. Poems can be dropped in Julia's letterbox. All other extra credit assignments will be announced individually on the board and in Discord or laid out with instructions in the EC thread linked above. These assignments will help your character pass if you're falling behind on necessary points, or boost your character towards earning Honor Roll for the term. ⚝ Please note: You cannot pass Dark Arts on extra credit alone. Participation in classes is required in order to earn a passing score.
