Founded in the late 1500s or early 1600s by Mungo Bonham, St. Mungo’s Hospital is the primary (and likely only) wizarding hospital in Britain. With safety being paramount to the operation of such a vital institution, an abandoned department store in London was chosen as its location. Despite this need for privacy, the hospital takes a less conventional approach to stealth, remaining in plain sight with nothing more than a 'closed' sign effectively keeping muggles out. To enter, simply speak with the gatekeeper (a dummy in outdated clothing styles), then step in through the display window.
The hospital has been taking care of ailments for centuries and has retained a reputation for excellence throughout the many changes in the wizarding world. While the primary patients are witches and wizards, in rare circumstances, there have been muggles who were also placed under the care of these competent healers.

Upon entering the hospital, there are six floors and several wards. The welcome witch that sits at the reception desk will help you find the ward you need.
Basement:
Both the Apothecary and the Morgue reside beneath the ground floor of the hospital. Once you've taken the lift, you will be met by a long corridor that stretches on both sides. Turning to the right, you will eventually end up at the hospital's morgue. Medical examinations are conducted here, as well as autopsies and general preparation of those who have passed on.
To the left, you will find the apothecary. This is where potions are cultivated to combat both potion and plant-poisoning cases that are referred to here. Ingredients are kept under the strictest of security, both for your health and safety.
Available positions (Morgue): Lead Magical Medical Examiner, Magical Medical Examiners, Lead Forensic Pathologists, Forensic pathologists
Available positions (Apothecary): Head Alchemist, Potioneers, Poison Experts, Herbologists, Ingredient Procurement Agents, Spell-Infused, Potion Designers, Experimental Brewers, Apothecary Aides, Lab Assistants
Ground Floor:
The entrance and ground floor of the hospital operates as both a reception area and as well as Triage/Emergencies. The lobby is filled with old and, in some cases fading copies of Witch Weekly magazines for the perusal of those not in dire need of medical care upon entering and it is not unusual to find visitors hanging about here with strange maladies and ailements like the odd hand sticking out of one's chest or a few missing appendages from a bad splinching.
This is where Triage and Emergency healers spend most of their day. The emergency healers can be seen wheeling around patients in the direst of conditions, while those working in triage help to sort out where the patient needs to be headed. On busier days, this is the busiest and most chaotic floor as it is the first point of contact for all who enter, regardless of their condition.
Available positions (Administration): Welcome Witch, Magical Administrative Clerks, Patient Records Keepers, Patient Liason Officers, Human Resource Agents
Available positions (Triage and Emergency): Lead Triage Healer, Triage Healers, Trauma Healers, Spell Diagnosticians, First Response Unit Healers, Emergency Potioneers, Field Retrieval Specialists
First Floor:
The first floor houses three wards: Labour, Neonatal, and Paediatric. Known to be the most colourful ward in this otherwise sterile environment. Collectively known as the "Family Wing", this section of the hospital has enchanted cots, privacy spells and supportive-bound furniture.
There are healers on standby for accidental magical surges during labour and education healers ready to provide information to young and new parents who are beginning this new journey.
Our paediatric healers are dedicated to our youngest patients, handling everything from accidental magical injuries to childhood ailments and everything in between.
Available positions (Labour): Head of Obstetrics, Obstetric Healers, Birthing Ritual Practitioners, Emergency Spell Damage Experts, Maternal Health Coordinator
Available positions (Neonatal): Head Neonatal Healer, Potion Lactation Consultant, Enchanted Incubator Specialist, Newborn Curse-Detection Medics
Available positions (Paediatrics): Head of Paediatrics, Paediatric Healers, Child Growth Healer, Paediatric Spell-Effect Specialist, Creature Interaction Consultant
Second Floor:
The Bugs, Magical Maladies and Spell Damage Ward is a bustling centre within the hospital, tackling the weirdest, most perplexing magical afflictions and injuries. Stepping into the 'bugs' department, it won't be unusual to find many patient isolation rooms as well as diagnostic orbs used in the aid of uncovering some of the rarest infections. It's not uncommon to find cases of Dragon Pox, Vanishing Sickness, and Scrofungulus while roaming the ward.
Over in the Maladies department is a Magical Malady Vault, used for storing the most dangerous, unidentifiable remnants left behind after treatment for further study. This department handles cases of spell backfiring, lingering hexes, or rare magical curses.
The corridor housing the spell damage unit contains a memory restoration chamber--newly installed--and there are many critical stabilisation charms. If you've found yourself here or are employed on this ward, reversed limbs, memory loss from miscast Obliviate spells, or curse-induced burns are just some of the things you could be dealing with.
Available positions (Magical Bugs):Magical Bugs Head of Department, Magical Contagion Specialists, Pathology Healers, Quarantine Overseers, Cure Researchers
Available positions (Magical Maladies): Magical Maladies Head of Department, Spell Reversal Specialists, Curse Removal Specialists, Potion Detox Experts
Available positions (Spell Damage): Spell Damage Department Head, Burn Specialists, Trauma Specialists, Long-term Care Healers
Third Floor:
The third floor is split into two wards; the larger area houses the psychiatry ward, while the smaller ward handles child psychiatry. There is a separate reception that awaits when you exit the lift, ensuring an extra measure of patient privacy. There are individual therapy chambers, private spaces for group therapy and several magically imbued incenses burning to promote a calmer environment.
The child psychiatry ward comes equipped with many puzzles, toys and activities, as well as the colourful drawings left behind by some of our young patients. There are also a pair of magical play rooms to accommodate some of of youngest patients.
Tucked away behind a false wall is the unit that houses our inpatients. Those who require longer-term care and stay are housed here, where they can be properly provided for--some willingly, others mandated by the state.
Available positions (Psychiatry): Head Psychiatrist, Psychiatrists, Mind-Healers, Potion Masters, Crisis Ward Attendants
Available positions (Child Psychiatry): Head Child Psychiatrist, Child Psychiatrists, Paediatric Mind-Healer, Dream Interpreter, Youth Behaviour Specialist, Family Counselling Wizard
Fourth Floor:
Chief of staff's office can be found on this floor, as well as a separate but connected branch of administration. It is tucked toward the back of the floor, with a wide view of the city. Near the lift is another guest area containing a visitors' tearoom and hospital shop. This is a place for visitors to relax and purchase gifts for patients they've come to visit. Through a door that most visitors don't notice is the entrance to the other half of the fourth floor. This is where the classrooms are and where trainee healers attend their lectures/practicals at The Collegium Medicorum Magicae
A stairwell leads to a portion of the roof that is concealed by many charms, allowing workers a space to have a moment's rest on days the weather allows, or to grab a quick lunch with a fellow co-worker.
Available positions: Personal assistant to the chief of staff, Receptionist, Gift shop workers
